I am Winifred Tappan, age 87, retired after nearly twenty years of teaching. After getting my Bachelor's Degree at age 50, I taught four years in Parkersburg, West Virginia. After a trip to Colorado and falling in love with the West, I got a job in Magdalena, New Mexico, teaching middle and high school learning disabled and emotionally disturbed students. During the three years I was there, I enrolled in New Mexico State University in Las Cruces to attain a Masters Degree in Education. Colorado required a Masters Degree to teach Special Education. I began teaching in the fall of 1981 at Cedaredge High School, Delta County Schools, Colorado. I retired at age 67 in May of 1992. "Grappling With Government Abuse" is my first book.
I've also enlisted the help of Jack McKenna CAA, CFP ©. He is specializing in Social Security rules and regulations, and would like to help anyone who has questions about their benefits. Besides this website, he can be reached at firstname.lastname@example.org. His phone number is (970) 249-3499.
My second book - "The Lactose Free Cookbook - Living Deliciously!", now in stock, is the result of several years of dealing personally with a fairly severe lactose intolerance. I grew up with a love of cooking which I still have today. Dealing with lactose intolerance has made me determined to find a way to enjoy my favorite foods without becoming ill in the process. This book has also come about in response to requests from friends and acquaintances for some of my recipes. Many of them do not have access to computers, and need a book to hold in their hands. This book is my attempt at a remedy. I hope that it helps.
